The city is located in the Pontine countryside on the southern edge of the plain itself, south of the Circeo promontory, near the mouth of the Amaseno river, on the Tyrrhenian coast (Gulf of Gaeta); the city develops from an offshoot of Monte Sant'Angelo, where the historic center lies, to the Circe seafront. The cliff of Pisco Montano clearly marks the southern boundary of the inhabited center; to the south opens the plain of Fondi, to the north the urbanization gradually slopes towards the open countryside and rural villages. The Portatore river flows through the municipal area.
