Castiglioncello

Castiglioncello is a hamlet of 3 800 inhabitants. Municipality of Rosignano Marittimo. Province of Livorno. Located in a privileged position from the panoramic point of view. Far from the major communication routes, it remained until modern times with its pine forests and cliffs close to the Ligurian Sea. 
Castiglioncello became famous in the sixties of the last century as a holiday destination for important exponents of the world of cinema, such as Alberto Sordi and Marcello Mastroianni. In this period it also hosted the set of the well-known film by Dino Risi Il sorpasso, with Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintignant.
