Casacalenda is an Italian town of 2.014 inhabitants in the province of Campobasso in Molise. There are several hypotheses of origin of the name, it could derive from the union of the house and a Latin name of a person not well identified. According to some, the term home instead comes close to the Latin term calendae, meaning “first day of the month” and with the meaning translated to “first day of the market”, referring to the fair that had life on site.
