The town of Brognaturo does not have very ancient origins because no trace of it is found in the Norman, Swabian and Angevin maps. It is not named among the hamlets taxed by the Calabrian Execution of 1276. The only mention, however summary, is present in a diploma by Count Roger (the Norman) dated to the end of the XNUMXth century. From here it is clear that Brognaturo probably derives from an ancient village, located on the surrounding mountains, of Greek name: "Brondismenon"
